A Very Kardashian Kristmas...God I hope Not!

The house and tree are decorated, the goose is stuffed, the Christmas ham is cooked, the alcohol-drenched Christmas cake is baked, all the presents are bought and wrapped - but not placed under the tree for fear of Madame Suki chewing them to shreds.  I'll leave her to play with her snowman!

Suki & The Snowman

But the most arduous task of the season has yet to completed...the Christmas Day outfit and matching manicure!  I am somewhat limited by the traditional Xmas colour scheme - blue is most definitely out.  BTW, can someone let Kris Jenner know that.  If you haven't had the misfortune of seeing the Kardashian Family Christmas Card Photo, well I'm forcing it upon you now!  Oh, my Dear Lord!  Christmas aquamarine, wrong on too many levels!

Just Bloody Awful

But back to me, me, me...aside from the limiting colour scheme, I'm also limited by what is acceptable in front of the grandparents.  One grandmother told me the other day miniskirts are no longer appropriate attire for me as "I'm knocking on a bit!" Yeah, cheers for that Nan!  So, short skirts and suspender tights are out...sad face!  :(  What are we left with then?

Hang on a minute...what am I talking about?  When do I ever conform?  I'm pretty sure the Lab Health&Safety Guide states, "Strictly no hot pants and killer heels in the Lab and/or near Science Geeks" but do I care?  No!  If I don't dress appropriately everyday then why should Christmas be any different?  So, Bah Humbug to Festive Fashion Rules.  Although, I hasten to add you will not see me in blue/aquamarine/turquoise.

Here are my choices:

Pink & Leopard - it could be a bit WAG-like but the resveratrol necklace counteracts that...I think?!

Black on Black on Black - a little morose, but add a Chanel belt and BOOM!

Palazzo Pants - Extravagant

Kanye would be proud

Jeans, aren't they blue?  Yes, but denim blue, not sparkling aquamarine.  Therefore, jeans are okay on Christmas day!

Pearl Baubles

On the 1st/2nd/3rd... Day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, two Gold Legs (i.e. a pair of gold tights) and a pair of stripper heels - slightly festive, oui ou non?

So shiny I could sit on top of the Tree

That's enough outfits, I think.  Now for some nail fun, although I haven't really strayed away from the traditional Christmas colour scheme (keepin' it real).

I doubt that this manicure will match any of my potential outfits.  The problem with conventional nail polish is the time it takes...two coats of base, two coats of colour and one of top coat to seal...then dry (with a high power blowdryer)!  So, once you start painting you are fully committed!  I'm thinking January will be the month to invest in some Inkredibles (Marian Newman)...water based nail varnish that dries in seconds and can be used on eyes, lips and cheeks...multitasking spectacular!

So there you have it, Christmas fashion that doesn't give a f**k!  And here's wishing you an equally eccentric, beautifully fashionable Christmas! (and I also wish you never have the misfortune of wearing aquamarine!)
